San Diego Derby Dolls Now Derby United, Moving To New Facility

SAN DIEGO, CA – Roller Derby 360, the parent organization of the San Diego Derby Dolls, is in the process of relocating to Encanto, the organization recently announced.

Roller Derby 360 has been headquartered on 14th Street in San Diego's East Village neighborhood for a decade, but will move to a new facility later this year. The organization announced it acquired a ground lease in late November for a facility at 6060 Federal Blvd. Development of the roller derby facility officially began Dec. 1.

"Neighborhood officials and local business organizations have been incredibly supportive of this project," according to the organization. "Roller Derby 360 is excited to call Encanto home and to better serve its members and new community."

The new facility will include a banked track, a flat track compliant with Women's Flat Track Derby Association regulations, locker storage, office space, bleachers, vendor space, on-site parking and Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations.

The Derby Dolls will also be renamed in the transition to the San Diego Derby United. According to Roller Derby 360, the change was made to reflect the roller derby program's diversity. The organization waited to announce its move to the new facility until the completion of its rebrand, according to a Derby United representative.

Roller Derby 360 said it hopes to christen the new roller derby facility some time this spring.
