San Diego Fire-Rescue Cleans Fuel Spill Outside Hillcrest Hospital

Responders were called to a 20-gallon diesel fuel spill at a hospital in Hillcrest.

SAN DIEGO - A 20-gallon diesel fuel spill Monday at a hospital in Hillcrest has been cleaned up, a San Diego Fire-Rescue official said.

SDFR and a hazmat unit responded to Vibra Hospital, 555 Washington, at 11:45 a.m. after being informed that diesel fuel spilled out of a tank in the hospital basement, according to spokeswoman Monica Munoz, who added that no one was injured.

According to an NBC7 report, Battalion Chief Grace Yamane said the spill was quickly contained and did not require officials to evacuate the building.

NBC7 reported the fuel, which was delivered Monday for a generator, spilled into a storm drain and some lower levels of the building.
