2025 San Diego International kids Film Festival is in August

San Diego International Kids' Film Festival focuses on entertaining and educational filmmaking that everyone can enjoy together. Each year, we screen films made across the globe. Accepted submissions are judged by the jury of experienced industry professionals. Films can be submitted in various categories, including short film, feature length, animation, and documentary. Filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

We also have special competitions for screenplays and music. Selected screenplays may be performed live at the Screenplay Showcase. Original music created for film may be submitted for the music contest. Finalists may be invited to perform at the festival.

This year after hearing many requests, we are adding a new competition of audio books. The contest embraces Children and Family-themed audio books in all languages and all genres. This contest is open to authors, narrators and publishers worldwide.

Festival activities include panels run by experts in the industry, filmmaker Q&As, and the opportunity to walk the red carpet. Participants get to promote their talent to industry personnel at the film market and network with other filmmakers at the gala. Attendees will also be featured in a documentary film made about the festival.
The final submission deadline is July 31, 2025. Films can be submitted at https://filmfreeway.com/SDIKFF.
