SAN DIEGO, CA — A San Diego nurse competed on "Let's Make a Deal."

Eboni Cross, 42, played "Lotto" for a chance to win a car on the game show. Although she didn't take home the car, she won several designer purses worth more than $3,000 — and fun memories.

"Of course it's amazing to win anything," Cross told Patch. "I'd like to say I didn't really care if I won, but that'd be a big fat lie! I was there for the experience but also hoped to walk away a winner."

Cross said "Let's Make a Deal" is her favorite game show. She's been a longtime fan of the show, which is known for audience members who dress in crazy costumes in order to increase their chances of being selected as a contestant.

"It's so crazy, which takes the fun factor to a super high level," she said. "My dad's silly like me, so we used to watch it together every morning. It's a special show."

It was the first time Cross appeared on a game show. She said she learned about the opportunity after meeting a member of the casting team through a Facebook group.

"It was so much fun," she said. "The cast and crew were great. They made it awesome to be there and encouraged us to put our personality out there. I gave all my energy, and when I watched it back, I thought I was way over the top. But it was a total blast!"

The episode re-airs Monday on CBS. Tune in at 9 a.m. to cheer Cross on again.
