San Diego Restaurant Serves The Best French Fries In California: List

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego is home to California's best fries, according to a list from foodie website Love Food.

Love Food scoured the country to come up with "the best french fries in every U.S. state." The selections on the list are updated regularly and are based on "genuine user reviews, awards and accolades, and the first-hand experience" of the site's team.

The best fries in California are at The Smoking Goat in San Diego, according to Love Food. Here's what Love Food had to say about the fries at The Smoking Goat:

"In a state as big as California, which has so many culinary influences, it's almost impossible to pick the best fries. Only almost, though, as the duck fat truffle fries at The Smoking Goat really are something special. Enriched by being fried in duck fat and drizzled with truffle oil, these crispy fries are then finished with freshly grated pecorino romano. Served alongside a mustard aioli, they taste incredible, whether devoured on their own or paired with one of the restaurant's luxurious entrées."

The Smoking Goat is family owned and operated by duo Fred and Tammy Piehl, who also run One Door North. Both restaurants are located in San Diego's North Park neighborhood. Established in 2010, The Smoking Goat serves a mix of classic French and modern California cuisine.
