SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Aviators lost all five sets in a 25-11 loss to the Philadelphia Freedoms Monday evening in a World TeamTennis match in Philadelphia.
The closest the Aviators (1-1) came to winning a set was in the final set, men's singles, when Ryan Harrison lost to Tommy Paul, 5-4. Under WTT rules, a set is decided in a nine-point tiebreaker if it is tied 4-4.
Harrison and Kaitlyn Christian lost the match's first set, mixed doubles, 5-2, to Raquel Atawo and Fabrice Martin. Christian and Christina McHale lost the second set, women's doubles, 5-0, to Atawo and Taylor Townsend at Hagan Arena at Saint Joseph's University.

Harrison and Jonny O'Mara lost to Paul and Fabrice Martin, 5-2, in men's doubles. McHale lost to Townsend, 5-3, in women's singles.
The Aviators are beginning the season with four road matches in four days. They defeated the New York Empire, 23-11, Sunday in New York City. The Aviators will play their home opener Friday against the Las Vegas Rollers at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad.
