Armed Man At San Diego's Chollas-Mead Elementary School Arrested: UPDATE

BREAKING: Chollas-Mead Elementary School in San Diego was on lockdown Wednesday after a man was seen with a knife on top of the school.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police arrested an armed man at an elementary school in San Diego's Chollas View community Wednesday after a school lockdown and 90-minute law enforcement standoff.

School officials called police about 10 a.m. after seeing an agitated, knife-wielding man pacing on top of Chollas-Mead Elementary School in the 4500 block of Market Street, according to San Diego police.

The incident promoted a school lockdown. Administrators had teachers secure themselves and their students in their classrooms as patrol personnel were en route to the site.
