SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State is ranked 19th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released Sunday. The No. 19 spot matches the Aztecs’ highest ranking since 1978.

SDSU has 365 points in the AP poll, up from 201 points a week ago when it entered at No. 22. San Diego State is ahead of No. 20 Utah (356 points), No. 21 Florida (342), No. 22 Notre Dame (246), No. 23 West Virginia (212), No. 24 Mississippi State (148) and No. 25 LSU (92), and just behind South Florida (406) for 18th.

The No. 19 national ranking will be the Aztecs’ highest entering a home game since Nov. 3, 1975 when they were ranked 13th. This is the 20th time that SDSU has been ranked in the AP poll since becoming a Division I program in 1969 and the sixth time since Sept. 18, 2016.

San Diego State is also ranked 21st in the Amway Coaches Poll with 315 points after checking in at No. 25 last week with 141 points. The Aztecs are just behind No. 20 Florida (345 points), and ahead of No. 22 LSU (221), No. 23 West Virginia (184), No. 24 Mississippi State (132) and No. 25 Florida State (104).

SDSU is 4-0 for the first time since 1981 and for just the second time in the last 42 years.

San Diego State is coming off a hard-fought 28-24 win at Air Force on Saturday night in stormy conditions. The Falcons entered the game 18-1 in their last 19 home games.

The Aztecs, who have won six consecutive games, and are 12-2 in their last 14 contests and 25-3 in their last 28, also have wins this year over UC Davis (38-17), at Arizona State (30-20) and against then No. 19/19 Stanford (20-17).

SDSU plays host to Northern Illinois (2-1) at 7:30 p.m. PT Saturday in their final non-conference game of the season.

Tickets are still available for the game against the Huskies, but fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early for better seat location. The Aztec Ticket Office, located at San Diego Stadium Window E, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. PT until 5 p.m. PT. On Saturday, the ticket office will open at 2:30 p.m. PT.
