Seasonal Butterfly Jungle Experience Returns To San Diego Zoo Safari Park
The immersive habitat bursts to life with hundreds of butterflies each spring.
ESCONDIDO, CA — Spring has nearly sprung, which means Butterfly Jungle is returning to San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
The immersive habitat, which opens this weekend, offers visitors a chance to see hundreds of butterflies in the Escondido park's Hidden Jungle aviary.
Guests can feed butterflies nectar, take photos, and learn about the vital role pollinators play in nature, with wildlife care specialists on hand to provide insights.

Tickets for the 20-minute Butterfly Jungle experience cost $18 per person. Children under 1 need a complimentary infant pass, which is available at the park's ticket booth. A separate Safari Park admission ticket or membership is also required.
Proceeds support wildlife conservation worldwide, including efforts to protect the endangered Quino checkerspot and Laguna Mountains skipper butterflies, according to the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, which operates the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

The seasonal exhibit will be open from March 21 through April 12. The habitat will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily within the Safari Park, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido.
