SeaWorld San Diego Welcomes 8 Flamingo Chicks

The theme park is celebrating the chicks, also known as flaminglets​, this weekend with flamingo-themed food, drinks​ and more.

SAN DIEGO, CA — SeaWorld San Diego recently welcomed eight flamingo chicks, the theme park announced this week.

Visitors can see the park's newest flamingo chicks, also known as flaminglets, in their mounds alongside their parents at the park.

During breeding season, each pair of flamingos creates a mud mound and lays a single egg, which is incubated for 28 days before hatching, according to SeaWorld. With a few more to hatch this season, in total, the park is now home to a flamboyance of 190 adult American flamingos.

SeaWorld is celebrating the chicks this weekend with flamingo-themed food, drinks and more.

Flamingo-themed cupcakes will be available from Friday through Sunday at various restaurants. The all-new Flamingo Fizz cocktail will also be available throughout the weekend, including during Happy Hour Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Underwater Cantina.
