The top enlisted Marine with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendelton, was relieved of duty on Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. George W. Smith Jr. relieved Sgt. Maj. Terrence C. Whitcomb due to what an official statement described as “loss of trust and confidence in his abilities to fulfill his assigned duties.”
