Sesame Place To Open All-New Count's Splash Castle

The new, interactive attraction replaces the former splash area and is double the size of the previous attraction that was in the space.​

SAN DIEGO, CA — The all-new Count's Splash Castle will open Friday at Sesame Place San Diego.

The multi-level water-play attraction features 111 play elements, including three giant tipping buckets that dump more than 1,300 gallons of water combined, according to Sesame Place. The new, interactive attraction replaces the former splash area and is double the size of the previous attraction that was in the space.

Count's Splash Castle was built with the whole family in mind, from the littlest splashers to big kids and adults, according to Sesame Place. The structure features four water slides, plus soakers, flow pipes, hose jets, spray jets, water shooters, water curtains, tipping troughs, spinning and sliding buckets, and more.

In celebration of the new attraction opening, children under 3 will now receive free admission to the theme park on every visit.

Sesame Place San Diego is the only theme park on the West Coast based on the award-winning children's show.

The 17-acre park features 18 Sesame Street-themed rides and water attractions, an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood complete with the iconic 123 Stoop, a 500,000-gallon wave pool, a musical play area, a parade, live character shows, and photo opportunities with beloved characters from the long-running children's show.

The theme park is located at 2052 Entertainment Circle in Chula Vista.
