Slight Chance Of Rain Lingers In San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — A slight chance of rain will linger Tuesday throughout San Diego County.

A low-pressure system off the coast of central California will makes its way inland over northern Baja California on Wednesday and a second low-pressure system will move across California and into Nevada on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Despite all this activity, only light rain is expected before both systems exit the region by Friday afternoon, forecasters said.

Rainfall totals through Friday are expected to reach four-tenths of an inch in coastal and inland valley areas, while the mountains could get up to a half-inch and less that one-tenth of an inch is expected in the deserts.

The chance of measurable precipitation is 40% Tuesday in coastal areas and 20% in the mountains, deserts and inland valleys

A winter weather advisory was in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday in mountain areas above 5,000 feet.
Snow levels will be around 4,500 feet Tuesday morning and 3,500 feet Wednesday morning.

Light snow could fall Tuesday evening in the mountains and there will be a better chance of snow on Wednesday and Thursday, forecasters said.

NWS officials advised motorists to use caution while driving because the snow could limit visibility and make roads slippery.

High temperatures Tuesday could reach 59 degrees near the coast, 59 in the western valleys, 55 near the foothills, 49 in the mountains and 68 in the deserts.

Dry weather is expected on Friday and Saturday, but another low- pressure system is expected to arrive late Sunday and bring rain into Monday, forecasters said.
