Small Earthquakes Shake Near Palomar Observatory In San Diego County
Residents reported feeling the quake across the county.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A magnitude-3.6 earthquake rattled parts of San Diego County early Saturday morning.
The quake was reported at 1:18 a.m. about 3 miles northwest of Palomar Observatory, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of roughly 8 miles.
Residents reported feeling the quake across the county, including in Carlsbad, El Cajon, Escondido, Fallbrook, Lakeside, Oceanside, Poway, Ramona, San Diego, San Marcos, Santee and Valley Center, according to the USGS.

A magnitude-2.7 quake rattled the same area two minutes later, according to the USGS. That quake had a depth of roughly 7 miles.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
