Suspect Arrested In Sexual Assault Of Girl, Other Victims Sought

SAN DIEGO, CA — Police have arrested a man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, authorities said Thursday.

The 20-year-old suspect, identified only by his first name "Romero," sexually assaulted the girl at her home, according to the San Diego Police Department. He claimed to be a 15-year-old boy during his interactions with the victim.

Police are seeking other victims.

"Investigators have reason to believe there might be other unreported victims who had been sexually assaulted by him either at their homes or his home," police Lt. Adam Sharki said. "Additional details are being withheld at this time to protect the current investigation and prosecution."

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the SDPD or San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
