Suspect Attempts To Rob San Diego Convenience Store
The suspect walked into the AM/PM at 8820 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- A man tried to rob a San Diego convenience store Sunday but got arrested instead, authorities said. At 1:51 a.m., the suspect walked into the AM/PM at 8820 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
"The clerk called the police and the suspect stayed at the counter," Heims said. "The police arrived and took the suspect into custody."
The suspect was identified as William Mayo, 49, the officer said.
