Suspect Sought In Thanksgiving Slaying In San Diego's Midway Area

A parolee-at-large is suspected of fatally stabbing another man in the neck in the Midway area on Thanksgiving Day, officials said.

SAN DIEGO— Authorities reached out to the public Tuesday for help in tracking down a parolee-at-large suspected of fatally stabbing a man in the neck in the Midway area on Thanksgiving Day.

Forrest Robert Brantley, 38, allegedly attacked 55-year-old Robert Erbe about 8 a.m. Thursday during an argument outside a business in the 3100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, according to San Diego police.

Medics took Erbe to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Sgt. Michelle Velovich said.

The reason for the confrontation between the two men was unclear, and the type of weapon used by the assailant remains unknown.

Brantley is believed to be in the San Diego area or Ventura County, where he is from, Velovich said.
