SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should know that weak Santa Ana winds are expected to continue through Tuesday for parts of Southern California.

"Breezy north to northeast winds will continue through Tuesday or while afternoon high temperatures gradually warm under a ridge," NWS Los Angeles wrote Sunday. "There is a slight chance of light rain Wednesday evening and Thursday across the central coast. It will cool back to near normal by Friday, before another round of Santa Ana winds arrive next weekend."

In other news, a SuperLotto Plus ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold at a grocery store in Los Angeles County, the California Lottery announced. The ticket is worth $33,778.

Police arrested a suspect in connection with the murders of three homeless people in Los Angeles. In information released Friday, police said a serial killer was preying on people sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles, killing three men last week.

Firefighters found the bodies of a woman, a man and a dog after extinguishing a fire that encompassed a home and two back houses in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

A son of 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome died after collapsing while training at Santa Anita Park, state horse racing officials reported. One More Bid, a 4-year-old gelding, is the 16th horse to die from a racing or training injury at the Arcadia track this year.

Plus, thousands of California State University faculty are preparing to shut down their classes and strike for one day this week as labor negotiations have stalled.

The series of one-day rolling strikes will begin at Cal Poly Pomona on Monday, with San Francisco State following on Tuesday, Cal State LA on Wednesday and Sacramento State on Thursday. Some faculty from other campuses are expected to join their colleagues and not teach on those days.
