'Swell Deals' On Airfare To Hawaii; Big Waves = Big Savings
If looking for flight deal to Hawaiian islands, Alaska Airlines is offering discounts from CA with prices based on size of ocean waves.

CALIFORNIA — Big waves always lure surfers. But now travelers can experience the same thrill as Alaska Airlines is running a “Swell Deals” offer with discounted flights to Hawaii, based on the height of forecasted waves around the islands.
The bigger the waves means the bigger the discount — possibly up to 30 percent — for flights booked through Nov. 8 for travel through Nov. 20.
In this first-ever sale powered by the size of ocean waves, Alaska has partnered with global surf forecasting site Surfline, which monitors minute-by-minute conditions around the Hawaiian Islands, according to the airline.

As such measurements fluctuate, so will the discounts, as they will change daily at approximately noon and 5 p.m., when Surfline receives updated data. Throughout the promotion, the discount level will never drop, but only increase each day as swells grow, company officials said.
Alaska will discount fares based on the following max swell heights tracked by Surfline:
