Teen Riding Scooter Hit By Car In Linda Vista
A 17-year-old boy sustained a brain bleed and multiple facial lacerations when he was struck by a car while riding a non-motorized scooter.
SAN DIEGO – A 17-year-old boy sustained a brain bleed and multiple facial lacerations when he was struck by a car while riding a non-motorized scooter Friday evening in San Diego.
The boy was hospitalized, but his injuries are not life threatening, authorities said.
The boy jumped over a raised wall into a westbound lane on Genesee Avenue near Richland Street where he was struck by a Ford Focus at about 7 p.m., San Diego Police Department Officer Robert Heims said.

The 38-year-old driver was not injured. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a cause of the accident, Heims said.
The accident remains under investigation.
