SAN DIEGO — A third suspect was arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a man found dead last winter in a Fox Canyon-area drainage ditch.
Jesus Faraj, 41, was already in custody on unrelated charges at Centinela State Prison in Imperial County when he was re-booked on suspicion of murder in the death of 32-year-old Jimmy Khieu, according to San Diego police.
Khieu was found dead in a culvert in the 5100 block of Auburn Drive late on the morning of Feb. 3. He had suffered traumatic injuries to his upper body, and his death was ruled a homicide, Lt. Matt Dobbs said.

Last Wednesday, detectives arrested 32-year-old Steven Chavez for allegedly taking part in the killing. On Friday, 45-year-old Peter Burgos – already jailed in San Diego County in a separate case – was booked for his alleged role in the homicide, Dobbs said.
Police have withheld Khieu's cause of death and have disclosed no suspected motive for the alleged murder.
