Thousands Of Apples Donated To Feeding San Diego
Barons Market and Charlie's Produce donated nearly 6,000 pounds of fresh apples to Feeding San Diego.

SAN DIEGO – Employees with Barons Market and Charlie's Produce will unpack and donate nearly 6,000 pounds of fresh apples Thursday to Feeding San Diego to help fight hunger around the county.
The donation is part of apple and cherry grower FreshFruits Marketing's Take a Bite Out of Hunger program, which aims to combat hunger and food insecurity by encouraging grocery stores to post retail displays and signage that bring attention to the issue. The program ends with apple donations to food banks across the country and in Canada.
"We love working with retailers and wholesalers, like Barons Market and Charlie's Produce, who are committed to serving their local communities," said Tim Corkill, regional marketing manager of FirstFruits Marketing. "Together, we're not only making a donation, but we're making a difference while raising awareness of food insecurity."
