Torrey Pines Wins San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition
More than 850 students participated in the 20th annual program at San Diego Superior Court's Central Courthouse.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The mock trial team at Torrey Pines High School topped 44 other San Diego area high school teams to win the 20th annual San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition.
More than 850 students participated in the program, which concluded Tuesday and took place at the San Diego Superior Court's Central Courthouse.
The program provides high school students with the opportunity to experience the legal field in courtrooms rather than classrooms, according to San Diego County Superior Court. The student teams take on the roles of lawyers and witnesses facing off on a hypothetical case in front of actual state and federal judges.
