Vehicle Fired On While At Red Light In Chollas View

A driver shot at a man in a different vehicle in the Chollas View neighborhood, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A driver shot at a man in a different vehicle in the Chollas View neighborhood, police said Tuesday.

At around 4 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man driving a Dodge Charger that was struck by gunfire at least three times by a shooter in a white SUV in the 400 block of Hilltop Drive near Escuela Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The victim told police that the suspect pulled up next to him while at a red light, questioned him, then pulled out a gun, Fox5 reported. The suspect shot at the victim's vehicle three times before fleeing west on Hilltop Drive.

It was not immediately clear how many suspects were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
