Victim Of Fatal San Marcos Hit-Run ID'd
Following the deadly impact, the motorist got out of the SUV and fled on foot to the north toward Mission Avenue, officials said.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities have publicly identified a man who lost his life over the weekend to a hit-and-run in a neighborhood near Palomar College.
Carey Faust, 62, was standing behind his parked vehicle in the 100 block of North Pacific Street in San Marcos when a white 2022 Hyundai Venue struck him at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office and Sheriff's Office. Faust died at the scene.
Following the deadly impact, the motorist got out of the SUV and fled on foot to the north toward Mission Avenue, sheriff's Sgt. Jeremy Collis said.
