Warmer Weather Triggers Heat Advisory For Parts Of San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — Warmer weather is expected Wednesday in San Diego County, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for parts of the region.

The heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday for the county's coastal areas and valleys, according to the NWS. High temperatures are expected up to 96 degrees, with the hottest temperatures predicted for the inland coastal areas and western valleys.

"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," the NWS warned.

Forecasters recommend people drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

"Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location," weather officials said. "Heat stroke is an emergency."
