Wilson Turner Kosmo Names Daniel Gunning Co-Managing Partner, Reinforcing Commitment to Firm Culture
Leading litigator selected by peers to help guide next chapter of growth for women-owned firm

San Diego-based law firm Wilson Turner Kosmo, one of the largest certified women-owned firms in California, has elevated employment litigator Daniel Gunning to Managing Partner. He joins Managing Partner Carolina Bravo-Karimi in leading the firm’s next chapter.
The firm’s leadership expansion coincides with its 35th anniversary and reflects its commitment to building leadership from within. Gunning’s elevation strengthens WTK’s foundation while advancing the culture, collaboration, diversity and inclusivity that have shaped the firm for more than three decades.
“Dan embodies the integrity, excellence and collaborative spirit that have long defined WTK,” said Bravo-Karimi. “His inclusion as Managing Partner ensures our ability to grow with intention and deliver exceptional client service while safeguarding the culture that sets our firm apart.”

In recent years, WTK has experienced significant growth, nearly doubling its attorney workforce from 36 at the start of 2020 to 66 in early 2026. Today, more than 85% of firm personnel are women or minorities, and over 70% of WTK partners come from historically underrepresented groups.
Gunning, a leader in the firm’s Employment Law practice group, joined WTK in 2011 and became a partner in 2017. Known for his client advocacy, mentorship and steady leadership, he’s played a key role in the firm’s continued growth and development of rising attorneys.

“From day one, I felt a natural home at WTK,” Gunning says. “Our culture puts ego aside and values every individual. As we continue to grow, maintaining that culture is incredibly important to us, and I’m excited to help lead in a way that builds on the foundation that’s been established.”
Gunning was selected by his fellow partners to lead the women-owned firm along with Bravo-Karimi.
“I’m incredibly honored by the trust my fellow partners have placed in me,” Gunning added. “I chose WTK more than 15 years ago because of the values set by its founders and deliberately carried forward by the firm’s next generation of leaders. Helping advance our legacy as a women-owned law firm while maintaining our culture, inclusion and opportunities isn’t something I take lightly.”
Gunning represents employers ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes discrimination, harassment and retaliation matters.
Committed to serving the larger legal community, Gunning serves on the University of San Diego Alumni Board of Directors, participates in the University of Notre Dame Law School’s alumni mentorship program and is treasurer of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers Executive Committee. In 2025, he was named a Leader of Influence in Law by the San Diego Business Journal. He was also named to the San Diego Super Lawyers – Rising Stars list for eight consecutive years from 2015 to 2023.
WTK’s leadership team continues to practice law while guiding firm strategy and reinforcing a hands-on, collaborative management approach. The addition of a second Managing Partner allows the firm to balance high-level client service and operational leadership while supporting WTK’s long-term growth.
For over three decades, the firm’s growth has remained intentional and organic. As partners expanded practices and client relationships deepened, the firm has added attorneys to meet shifting demands. In recent years, WTK has broadened its service lines with the additions of its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Workplace Investigations practice groups, helping clients build inclusive, accountable workplaces.
As WTK marks its 35th anniversary, its leadership expansion reflects steadiness and forward momentum.
“This role is about stewardship,” Gunning said. “WTK has built something special over the past 35 years, and I’m focused on honoring that legacy while helping guide our growth with purpose and intention.”
