RAINBOW, CA — A woman was seriously injured Monday when the vehicle she was in veered out of control and overturned on Interstate 15 in the far northern reaches of San Diego County, authorities reported.

It happened about 1:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway, near Old Highway 395 in the Rainbow area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, the CHP reported.
