Woman Fatally Struck On Mira Mesa Sidewalk
A 68-year-old woman was fatally struck over the weekend on a sidewalk in front of a bank driveway, San Diego police said.
SAN DIEGO — A 68-year-old woman was fatally struck Saturday on a sidewalk in front of a bank driveway, San Diego police said.
The collision occurred about 2:50 p.m., as the woman walked northbound on the west sidewalk of 10800 Black Mountain Road. As she crossed the Bank of America driveway, she was struck by a 2006 Ford F250 driven by a 43-year-old man, said Officer J. Buttle, watch commander at the San Diego Police Department.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, but transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

NBC7 reported from the scene that the pickup driver had tried to flee but was detained before doing so.
