Woman Fatally Struck By Train In San Diego
The deadly collision with a Coaster train was the second in a roughly 24-hour period in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman was hit and killed by a train on Labor Day in San Diego.
The deadly collision happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Morena Boulevard and Asher Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
"When San Diego police officers arrived, they found a woman who was hit by a northbound Coaster train," sheriff's Sgt. Jason King said. "Paramedics rushed to give aid, but she did not survive her injuries."

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the woman and determine the cause and manner of her death, King said.

On Sunday, a man was fatally struck by a Coaster train at 3:25 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Highway and West Washington Street, King said.
The sheriff's department was handling both investigations because the department's Transit Enforcement Unit investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District.
