Woman Reported Missing From San Diego County Found Living In Mexico

Investigators established contact with Kovrizhnykh on Aug. 7 and verified her identity, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Ukrainian woman who was reported missing last year in San Diego County has been located in Mexico, authorities announced.

Ganna Kovrizhnykh, a Ukrainian citizen, was reported missing by family members in July 2025 after her car and trailer were found abandoned on private property in Potrero, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's investigators pursued leads in the case and eventually determined she may have voluntarily crossed into Mexico.

Investigators established contact with Kovrizhnykh on Aug. 7 and verified her identity, according to the sheriff's office. She is believed to be staying in Sinaloa, Mexico.

The sheriff's office has notified the Ukrainian Embassy of her whereabouts.

Kovrizhnykh was 38 when she was reported missing. Her family had last heard from her July 5, 2025, while she was driving through San Diego County as part of a cross-country trip.
