• Light-rail project in San Fernando Valley awarded $2.4 billion for construction (dailynews.com) — A massive $2.43 billion contract will fund the first phase of LA Metro's East San Fernando Valley light-rail line, running up Van Nuys Boulevard toward San Fernando Road in Pacoima. A second phase under study would extend service directly into San Fernando, promising faster, more reliable transit for car-free residents across the northeast Valley by 2031.
