Police say they also seized nearly a pound of drugs during the operation.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police say they arrested 62 people during a drug enforcement operation across three districts in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Of the 62 arrests, 52 were fugitives with warrants out for their arrest, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Police also found 0.74 pounds of drugs while serving the warrants around the Tenderloin, Mission, and Southern Districts.

It's unclear what the suspects were wanted for. The one-day operation was focused on locating fugitives with arrest warrants, but also to "disrupt narcotic sales and drug markets in the city.

"The SFPD would like to thank the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office for its assistance, which was instrumental in this operation," police said. "We will continue to prioritize efforts to address the drug crisis in our city by taking wanted suspects off our streets and holding individuals who sell illegal narcotics accountable."
