SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect a mix of low clouds and sunshine Monday across the Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service.
"Near or slightly below normal temperatures and higher humidity through the first half of the upcoming week," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Sunday.
"The marine layer and mid to upper level cloud cover will continue to help keep temperatures cooler under building high pressure," weather officials continued. "Approximately 5% chance of elevated showers with isolated thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening."
In other news, a sick cruise ship passenger was evacuated; a woman was accused of kidnapping after entering a stranger's residence and interacting with a child; a woman was arrested on allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with a teen; and three people were injured after a fire broke out at a six-story residential complex.
Also, two U.S. Forest Service employees were rescued after being kidnapped and held hostage for hours in a remote Northern California forest.
Plus, California ranked among the top 20 states in the country for doing business, according to an annual comparison of all 50 states.
