SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A San Francisco band was arrested in Long Beach on Saturday night after playing an unpermitted concert outside the Vans Warped Tour, according to a Long Beach Watchdog report.
Hemorage was two songs into its impromptu performance when the Long Beach Police Department showed up and arrested them in a "massive show of force," according to the report.
A Long Beach band, Idle Worship, was also arrested, according to the report.
A Long Beach Police Department spokesperson told the Watchdog that unpermitted events such as the Hemorage show can create "public safety concerns and contribute to traffic congestion and other disruptions." It's unclear exactly what they were booked on suspicion of.
Video posted online shows a group of people dancing outside in a parking lot while a band plays loudly inside a U-Haul. Flashing squad cars can be seen nearby as several officers break up the show and place the musicians in cuffs.
Hemorage said on Instagram that they spent the night in jail, the U-Haul truck was towed, all their band gear was seized, but otherwise "everyone's good."
