With too few bins, scaledβback pickup services, and fines hitting merchants, residents are organizing grassroots cleanups while pressing city officials and property owners to step up responsibility for cleaner streets.

This Day in Rock History: August 19 (rock929rocks.com) β San Francisco music history buffs will appreciate that the Beatles launched their very first North American tour at the Cow Palace on August 19, 1964, with a 12-song set.
