Kitten Rescued From Bay Area Freeway By Animal Control

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 13-week-old kitten is on a recovery journey after being found injured along a San Francisco freeway.

Animal Care & Control San Francisco officials say the white domestic shorthair kitten was spotted by someone lying on his side in the sun against a white barrier on the freeway near San Jose Avenue.

Officers "rushed" to the scene, stopped traffic and rescued the kitten, according to Animal Care & Control San Francisco.

" The kitten is receiving treatment for injuries from our veterinary team," animal control officials said. The extent of the kitten's injuries was not clear.

Photos of the kitten show it cuddling with a towel inside a small crate.
