SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A popular fast-casual Mediterranean food chain is expanding its Bay Area presence with two new locations, including another in San Francisco.
SAJJ Mediterranean's newest San Francisco location, at 71 Stevenson St., Suite 100, is currently in its soft-opening stage. This is the chain's third San Francisco location. It also recently opened a new location in Palo Alto.
"We've been hard at work behind the scenes, and we're excited to finally welcome you to our NEW SAJJ location!" the company said in a statement on social media last month.
An official grand opening date has not been announced.
The location spans roughly 2,100 square feet and features high atrium ceilings, abundant natural light, and SAJJ's signature "green farm feature" that reflects the brand's mission to source produce from local California farms and halal-certified proteins, according to RestaurantNews.com.
"The Bay Area is home for SAJJ, and we believe there is still tremendous opportunity to grow here," Zaid Ayoub, founder and CEO of SAJJ Mediterranean, said, according to RestaurantNews.com. "At the same time, the strength we're seeing across our existing restaurants gives us confidence that the brand is ready for its next phase."
Ayoub opened the first SAJJ in 2012 and has since expanded across the Bay Area, with locations now in San Jose, San Francisco and the East Bay.
It serves customizable Mediterranean bowls, wraps, salads, falafel, and shawarma and offers catering options, according to its website.
