SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Grammy-winning R&B singer Lionel Richie has reportedly checked himself into a hospital after the "Dancing On The Ceiling" performer had to take a seat as his concert came to a close in St. Louis on Saturday night.

The 77-year-old Beverly Hills resident is in the intensive care unit at a hospital in St. Louis to undergo testing as doctors look into slight dehydration, TMZ reported.

The report comes just weeks before Richie and Earth, Wind and Fire are expected to perform at San Francisco's Chase Center on Sept. 26.

The concert was previously set for Aug. 6 but was rescheduled to its current date after Earth, Wind and Fire drummer John Paris suffered a medical emergency.

It's unclear whether Richie's hospitalization will impact the show date.

Witnesses in attendance for the four-time Grammy winner's recent show Saturday night said he appeared to be having some struggles toward the end, according to TMZ.

Richie reportedly asked for a chair so he could sit while performing his final song, "All Night Long."

However, the American Idol judge hopes to be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, per TMZ.

He previously postponed two shows after suffering a health scare on stage while performing in Minnesota in June.

California Editor Corey Washington contributed to this report.
