SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Six people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Saturday night at Park Presidio Boulevard and California Street, San Francisco Fire officials said
The crash on the city's busy west-side highway occurred about 6:55 p.m., fire Capt. Jonathan Baxter said.
Three of victims suffered moderate injuries while three were minor, he said. All were taken to a local hospital.
Because the situation involved a multi-vehicle collision with multiple patients, the Fire Department activated what is known as a yellow alert multi casualty incident.
A multi casualty incident brings in more ambulances and secures adequate emergency room occupancy for trauma patients, firefighters said on social media.
