Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Reopened After Gas Main Break [UPDATED]

Breaking: The lane closure is no longer in effect.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — A construction worker stuck a minor gas line while digging a hole with a shovel on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in San Anselmo early Tuesday afternoon, Ross Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Mahoney said.

The break in the gas line that runs from the road to a residence at 1344 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. was reported around 12:18 p.m., and PG&E crews quickly responded and clamped the line shut, Mahoney said.

The scene was cleared at 12:53 p.m., Mahoney said.

The incident happened near Sir Francis Drake High School which opens to students on Wednesday.
