• How nearly 2 million California homes must adjust landscaping under just-approved wildfire rule (fresnobee.com) — New statewide wildfire rules will affect some neighborhoods on the flanks of San Bruno, requiring homeowners over the next several years to clear flammable materials within five feet of their homes and adjust fencing and landscaping. If your property falls in a designated high-risk zone, you'll eventually need to remove wood chips, firewood, dead plants, and some vegetation near structures to comply.
   

• Women's Volleyball Picked to Finish Second in WCC Preseason Poll (pepperdinewaves.com) — A new West Coast Conference volleyball preseason poll was released from San Bruno, where league officials picked Pepperdine to finish second behind defending champion San Diego. Three Pepperdine players made the preseason all-conference team, and fans are being urged to grab tickets for next weekend's Asics Classic as the 2026 season quickly approaches.
