• Vegan Gas Station Hangry Planet Sells for More Than $12M After Four Years of Trading (vegconomist.com) — San Bruno's plant-based gas station and convenience store Hangry Planet at 1199 El Camino Real, across from the former Tanforan mall, has been sold for more than $12 million. Founder Bobak Bakhtiari says the deal includes both the property and business, now operated by Brar Pacific Oil. It's unclear whether the new owner will keep the fully vegan product lineup that drew destination shoppers.
• Five-Star Class of 2028 Outfielder Commits to Texas Tech Softball (on3.com) — A standout Capuchino High School outfielder from San Bruno has verbally committed to play softball at Texas Tech, turning down interest from UCLA and Stanford. The five-star 2028 recruit, Star Gutierrez, has posted eye-catching batting stats and is projected as a speedy, impact center fielder at the college level.
