A Rough Couple Days for San Carlos Little Leaguers

The runs came in bunches. Unfortunately teams from Foster City and San Mateo National were doing most of the scoring.

There's good news and bad news. The San Carlos National all-stars, who lost to Foster City, 16-2, on Wednesday, will get a chance to play again.

Not so San Carlos American, which dropped a 12-0 decision to San Mateo National on Tuesday night. SC American played terrific ball in its first game, an extra-inning thriller that did not go its way.

SC National fell behind, 3-0, in the top of the first inning but rallied to close within 3-2 in the bottom of the first inning. Jackson Hohe delivered an RBI single on which Nolan Peterson and Matt Smith scored.

Ryan Jefferies came within a few inches of clobbering his third home run in as many games. His ball to deep centerfield in the third was caught just in front of the fence.

Foster City scored at least three runs each time it came to bat, which was four innings.

San Carlos National comes back to play Half Moon Bay at 4 p.m. Friday at Highlands Park.
