San Carlos resident admitted into Carleton College

San Carlos resident and Menlo School grad Sophia King was admitted into Carleton College, which held its first day of school on Sept. 10.

Ranked among the nation's top liberal arts institutions, Carleton is a private, co-educational college of 2,000 students located 40 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

High academic standards, an excellent faculty, a commitment to teaching and learning, and a diverse student body contribute to Carleton's outstanding reputation.

One thing she won't have to change is her athletic wardrobe. Carleton's mascot is the "Knights" and its colors are blue and gold, the same as Menlo School.

Palo Alto High grad Ashley Shin is a freshman volleyball player at Carleton.
