Armed Man Allegedly Robs Peninsula Bank: Deputies Seek Suspect ID

WOODSIDE, CA – A man, armed with a small, black metal handgun, allegedly robbed a Woodside bank on Valentine's Day and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black trash bag, according to law enforcement.

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies responded Tuesday to the Chase Bank at 2977 Woodside Road in the Town of Woodside after the report of the 2:55 p.m. hold-up.

The suspect allegedly brandished the gun at bank tellers, demanded money, then after stashing the cash in a trash bag walked out of the bank heading east on Woodside, authorities said.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the man is still at large despite a search of the area, deputies said.
