City Calls For Consultants To Examine Public Works Departments

The RFP went out earlier this week for vendors.

The city of San Carlos has invited vendors to conduct a study of the city's Public Works and Community Development Departments.

The Request for Proposal went out earlier this week with the city asking for consulting services that would "examine specific department operations or elements, evaluate management structure, and to identify methods to improve service levels, potential areas for consolidation, increase efficiency and achieve cost savings."

Former Public Works Director Robert Weil resigned on May 20. Al Savay has been serving as acting Public Works Director since Weil's departure.

The city's announcement asked that each proposal be delivered via US Mail, in person, or express courier to the attention of the City Clerk.  Three copies of the quote shall be submitted for use by the RFP Team, the city said.

Deadline for submissions to the city clerk is 4:00 pm, August 5, 2011. Submissions after this deadline will not be accepted.

The city's website says, "Each quote shall include a letter of transmittal, signed by an authorized representative of the consultant. This letter of transmittal must state the names of the individual(s) authorized to negotiate with the City and sign contracts on behalf of the vendor."
