El Camino Real Bank Robber With Distinctive Look Caught, FBI Says

BREAKING: The man was dubbed the "Orange Goatee Bandit" due to his unique appearance.

Officials with the San Francisco branch of the FBI confirmed Thursday that they have captured the "Orange Goatee Bandit," a suspect they asked the community for help in locating after he robbed banks in Fremont and Millbrae within a matter of days of each other earlier this month.

The suspect was arrested in Colorado for allegedly committing similar crimes there. He remains in custody.

FBI San Francisco spokeswoman Katherine Zackel said although the suspect has been identified and is in custody, his name cannot be released to the public since he has not yet been charged for the crimes in California.

He allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo bank on Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont on Dec. 1 and a Chase Bank on El Camino Real in Millbrae on Dec 4.

In both cases, he passed a note to a teller demanding money, according to the FBI.FBI San Francisco officials on Twitter thanked the public for tips they received that helped solve the case.Anyone with information about the suspect or the case is asked to contact the San Francisco office of the FBI at (415) 553-7400.
