After-school programs are available at the Hiller Aviation Museum on Tuesday afternoons for Grades 1-5 and Thursday afternoons for Grades 4-8. Elementary programs focus on hands-on aircraft construction and basic flight simulation. Middle school programs feature special aircraft encounters and advanced flight simulation. Each session meets one day per week from 3:30 PM-4:50 PM for four weeks.
The middle school program is called Pilot Training and allows kids to discover the life of a pilot while mastering checklists, flight plans and preflight inspections of real aircraft. Participants will learn to start, taxi and fly an airplane in the flight simulators and successfully complete a simulated mission to a nearby airport.
