Fire Department Offers Wildfire Training This Saturday

The Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department will give a preparedness training class in San Carlos.

The will be hosting a preparedness training session on Saturday, August 13 at 9 am to educate and prepare residents for wildland fires.

San Carlos is one of nine cities in San Mateo County within the Wildlife Urban Interface.

The training will “provide CERT members with an increased knowledge about interface dangers and how as a team they can prepare.”

The presentation will cover:

-       Interface dangers, including basic fire behavior and environmental influences

-       Wildland fire safety, including how to prepare your home, yards and neighborhoods

-       What to do when a wildland fire is threatening homes and your community.

The training is open to the public and will be held at 600 Elm Street in San Carlos.
